News broke today out of the ACC that Notre Dame’s regular season will end after its home game vs Syracuse. With this news, Notre Dame clinched one of the spots in the ACC Championship on December 19th. The match-up will be a rematch with Clemson, who’s regular season will also end Saturday. The first College Football Playoff rankings came out tonight, and The Notre Dame Fighting Irish came in at #2, right behind Alabama. This is the highest the Irish have found themselves on the rankings since they were ranked #3 back in 2017. The big news coming out of the bye week was not all great. During Brian Kelly’s weekly press conference, it was made official that the Irish will be without two offensive linemen for Friday’s game. Junior center Jarrett Patterson has been lost for the season after a foot injury during the Boston College game that required surgery.
