4th and 1rish Top 4: Fighting Irish Twitter

4th and 1rish Top 4: Fighting Irish Twitter

With the first installment of 4th and 1rish top 4, I am going with the top four Twitter accounts that I go to for all my Irish football needs. These are four very different accounts, some well-known ones and some lesser-known. Again, these are my top four and they very well can differ from any other Irish football fan.

My top 4:

  • Pete Sampson @Petesampson_ : Pete Sampson is a Notre Dame beat writer who works for The Athletic. Yes, there are a bunch of beat writers out there and people who cover Notre Dame football – but in my opinion, Pete is the best and it’s not even close. He is the first place I go to for anything Notre Dame football. He also has a podcast, “The Shamrock” which is a must-listen. Pete gives you the facts and isn’t a “homer” while also throwing in some humor. You have to pay to read his articles on The Athletic but it’s 100% worth it .
  • Notre Dame Football @NDfootball: I can’t leave the main Twitter for Notre Dame football off a list of top Irish football Twitter accounts. Can you call yourself a Fighting Irish football fan if you don’t follow their own Twitter account? The account has awesome content, whether it’s photos or different videos. They still produce content during the offseason so you don’t have to go without ND football when there is no football being played.
  • Barstool Irish @Barstoolirish: This Twitter account has anything and everything Notre Dame, not just football. It is a direct affiliate of Barstool, ran by a student at Notre Dame, so expect some laughs on this account. If you’re not a fan of the Barstool brand this might not be an account for you – but if you’re like me who loves both Barstool and any thing Notre Dame, it’s a match made in heaven.
  • Irish Sports Daily @ISDUpdate: This is the Twitter account for the website Irishsportsdaily.com. They focus primarily on Notre Dame football, but will also report on all the big Fighting Irish sports. Need to find out news about Notre Dame football recruiting? Irish Sports Daily has you covered. A lot of their site is free, but some you have to pay for. Like Pete Sampson, they also have a podcast. They produce almost daily content on all of their platforms. A must-follow for all Fighting Irish football fans.

There are way more than four Twitter accounts that you should follow if you love Notre Dame football – these just happen to be the four I go to the most. You can always get your Notre Dame Football fix out of these four Twitter accounts, even now in the offseason, a huge plus.

Next up on 4th and 1rish Top four, I will go with a position player on the football team but that is TBD. Stay tuned and see you next week.
